Getting Fit For the Wedding? Try These Tips…

By Tara Andrews

Now that it is a new year and the wedding date is getting closer are you planning to start a new fitness routine to help look your best on your big day? Here are a few tips to help you stay on track and look stunning on the big day.

  1. Talk to the Professionals. Your local gym or fitness center has personal fitness coaches who can design a fitness program aimed at meeting your goals. Whether you are looking to lose a few pounds, tone your arms, or just looking for an all around improvement, they are there to help. They can also switch up your routine for you so you and your muscles never get bored!!
  2. Start Slow. Whether you are going to start jogging or you’re joining a gym, start slow in the beginning. One of the biggest reasons that people fail with their fitness goals is because they do too much too soon and end up gettingĀ  injured or discouraged.
  3. FitnessTeam up with someone. Having a common goal with someone can help you stay motivated and be less likely to skip the gym. When I tell someone I am going to the gym with them I am much less likely to skip it because I would let them down.
  4. Set a Goal. Whether your goal is to go to the gym three times a week or to run a 5km race, it’s important to set a goal. You could also challenge a family member, friend, or coworker to a fitness goal. Whatever the challenge, you benefit each other.
  5. Be Realistic. You are not going to lose 30 pounds in two weeks and you won’t be able to run 5km after three nights of jogging. Everyone is different and we all take different amounts of time to achieve our fitness goals, ensure that yours are realistic for you.

Good luck with your fitness goals and stay motivated!
