Seven Metallic Colored Freshwater Pearl Necklaces In One!

By Tara Andrews

A friend of mine came to me one day with two strands of white pearls that belonged to her mother and asked if I could make something for her with them. She likes chunky jewelry and loves layering multiple strands together. She also wanted me to add in some other color pearls that matched her style and taste including the black dyed freshwater pearls with black, green, blue, and purple hues.

So, I came up with an idea:  string pearls on silk thread that have lobster claw clasps on each end so that they can be attached and removed from a clasp making them the ultimately versatile accessory.  You can include some vintage pieces with sentimental value to make the piece even more meaningful.

Although the pearls I made for my friend are now proudly worn around her neck, I made a similar necklace with three strands of pearls from my supplies.

The result is this stunning multiple strand necklace with white, black, and silver freshwater pearls.

Since the strands can be removed, you can wear the necklace in seven different color combinations and wear it twisted or untwisted.

  • All three colors ( 1 possible necklace).
  • Just two colors (3 possible necklaces).
  • Wear each strand individually by clipping the lobster claw clasps together (3 possible necklaces).

I have lots of other freshwater pearl colors to choose from if you’d like one of these versatile necklaces to add to your own collection! View more photos of this necklace in my Etsy shop here.

More Stunning Wedding Portraits

By Tara Andrews

Halifax has so many beautiful niches and cozy corners. There is one in particular that literally lights up during the night. The trees in front of the Marriot Harbourside are wrapped with thousands of tiny white lights and every night they light up the sidewalk in front of The CUT Steakhouse & Urban Grill on Lower Water street.

I have often thought these tiny twinkling torches would make  a beatiful backdrop and Liam from Applehead Studio was able to capture them in one of his wedding portrait photographs. They frame the bridal party perfectly.

Halifax also has hundreds of beautiful historic buildings  and just to the left of the above picture is the Alexandre Keith’s Brewery built in the early 1830s with beautiful stonework that has amazing texture. Liam was able to get an amazing shot with the bride and groom in front of this stone. An overhead lamp creates a dramatic spotlight on the couple as they lean in for a kiss. Great work Liam!

The Infamous Church Entrance Dance

By Tara Andrews

This YouTube video went so viral that The Office copied it during Jim and Pam’s wedding. Although the cast members of The Office did a fabulous job, I have to give major kudos to the original creators.

The original is much more spontaneous and well executed. The friends are so into it and they are having so much fun. Who would ever forget that wedding?

Would you ever ask your friends to dance like this for your wedding?

Maggie Sottero and Freshwater Pearl Inspiration

By Tara Andrews

I love all of Maggie Sottero’s wedding dresses. They are so elegant and gorgeous that I am sure anyone who wears them instantly feels more sophisticated and beautiful. Her dresses are so simple and feminine with flattering lines that enhance your figure.

The dress pictured below is one of my favorites because of the interesting straps. With such an interesting focal point at the neck line there is no need to wear a necklace. The dress has a stunning empire waist and a soft illusion train. I have chosen some earrings and bracelets that would be paired perfectly with this wedding dress.

The back of this dress is just as beautiful as the front with its corset closure and soft illusion train.
