More Gorgeous Purple Freshwater Pearl Jewelry…

By Tara Andrews

Another supply order arrived with some gorgeous freshwater pearls that are dyed a bright and beautiful purple. I immediately got to work hand knotting a necklace and earring set. They would make perfect accessories for bridesmaids or brides.

These pearls are 6.5mm and have a potato shape. They are not perfectly round but still gorgeous! I love the color. The fascinating thing about dyed freshwater pearls is that they each absorb the dye differently so there are slight variations in the color giving them much more character than a strand of exactly the same colored pearls.

We’re getting married… TODAY! Surprise!!

By Tara Andrews

This has got to be one of my favorite surprise wedding ideas. Meegan and Jean-Louise invited over one hundred of their closest friends and family to an “engagement party” only to surprise them with a spontaneous wedding ceremony THAT DAY!

How fun would that be? I love this shot of the wedding party who just found out that they are actually going to be bridesmaids today, not just party guests.

And here, the guests are realizing that she is in a wedding dress, and she is being led down an aisle – she’s getting married today – right now!!

The happy couple following the ceremony.

Let the party begin!!

Seven Metallic Colored Freshwater Pearl Necklaces In One!

By Tara Andrews

A friend of mine came to me one day with two strands of white pearls that belonged to her mother and asked if I could make something for her with them. She likes chunky jewelry and loves layering multiple strands together. She also wanted me to add in some other color pearls that matched her style and taste including the black dyed freshwater pearls with black, green, blue, and purple hues.

So, I came up with an idea:  string pearls on silk thread that have lobster claw clasps on each end so that they can be attached and removed from a clasp making them the ultimately versatile accessory.  You can include some vintage pieces with sentimental value to make the piece even more meaningful.

Although the pearls I made for my friend are now proudly worn around her neck, I made a similar necklace with three strands of pearls from my supplies.

The result is this stunning multiple strand necklace with white, black, and silver freshwater pearls.

Since the strands can be removed, you can wear the necklace in seven different color combinations and wear it twisted or untwisted.

  • All three colors ( 1 possible necklace).
  • Just two colors (3 possible necklaces).
  • Wear each strand individually by clipping the lobster claw clasps together (3 possible necklaces).

I have lots of other freshwater pearl colors to choose from if you’d like one of these versatile necklaces to add to your own collection! View more photos of this necklace in my Etsy shop here.
