It’s that time of year again, time to announce the Petals and Pearls Bridal Accessory Showcase and start getting the word out. This year we have lots more gorgeous accessories to share with you that will be perfect for your wedding. You’ll be able to find bride and bridesmaid jewelry, hair accessories, garters, and much much more. Bring in your colour swatches to help with coordination.

You’ll be able to meet with the designers which is a great chance to discuss your ideas with us and what you’d like for your dream accessories. Lyndsay, Alexis, and I are looking forward to seeing you all.

Some Wedding Show Tips

Many vendors have prizes or table draws at their booth. Most vendors ask for the same information on their sign up forms to enter their draws. These include: your name, email address, wedding date (put unknown if it hasn’t been set), and your telephone number. To make entry easy and quick print some labels from Staples with this information on them and you can stick the sticker on the entry sheet.

Wedding shows can also be overwhelming with hundreds of vendors under one roof. Before the show browse some websites of vendors who are planning to attend the show. Each show usually has a website with vendor listings and links. That way you can concentrate on visiting the vendors you like the most and find out where their booth is before you arrive so you don’t miss them.

Creative DIY Way to Journal Your Wedding Experiences

I first spotted these journals at my local Michael’s arts and craft store. I immediately wanted to buy one to jot down all of my spontaneous and creative jewelry design ideas. But these are also perfect for journaling and keeping tid bits from your entire wedding experience in one spot with stickies, glue, and a little {or a lot of} creativity.

Just think of all the candid shots of testing cakes, trying on dresses, visiting venue locations, and jotting down notes of how you really think about all of them and it’s all bound and kept in one spot. You could also pass it around to all the wedding party and dedicate a page to each for them to create something for you. You can get kits with all the accessories together from K & Company’s SMASH website. Excuse the pun but I think they’re smashing!

I have had quite a busy spring/summer season which is why I have not had a chance to update my blog but there are many exciting things in the works including another Trunk show in 2012, attending the Halifax Seaport Farmer’s Market and working with a Canadian Fashion magazine that is going to feature my work in an upcoming issue. It is all very exciting.
