By Tara Andrews
The song starts and it is another traditional first dance between a groom and his new bride until wait a minute, the music changed…
There are so many ingenious couples out there coming up with new ways to dance their first dance. I love this one, another well choreographed high energy number from some very creative people.

The Cake Boss’ Wedding Cakes
By Tara Andrews
I have fallen in love with the TLC network’s show “The Cake Boss” about an Italian family run bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey. The episodes are hilarious and you get a glimpse into the life of Buddy, the “Boss”, and his family. There are pranks, rivalries, sibling disputes, and lots of cake.
The show is based on how the family meets and exceeds their customer’s expectations when they order custom cakes for special occasions. The family does phenomenal work and I snagged these few cakes from their online portfolio to help inspire your own cake selection.
Seeing these cakes and watching the show really makes me wish I lived near the bakery so I could taste some of their beautiful work.
The fabric cake truly looks like silk and satin. I don’t know how they do it but their cakes are so intricate and so beautiful. I love the colors and details in the flowers and gotta love the round beaded look around each tier. They look just like pearls.
What kind of cake design are you planning to have on your wedding day?
Getting Married in 2010 or 2011? Make Your Own Save The Date Cards!
By Tara Andrews
Everyone is looking for ways to save some money without skimping on the details and fun parts about getting married. You gotta love the girls over at weddingchicks.com. They have made an easy DIY project to create beautiful save the date cards for weddings in 2010 and 2011.
All you need are some 4×3 inch photos, a printer, some #10 cards and envelopes, and some creativity. You can also use their files to import your photos and add a virtual stamp with software like Adobe Photoshop like I did in my example.
If you don’t have a picture that you love of the two of you, you can always include a photo from the location of the wedding like my example with a photo I took during my vacation to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Get all the instructions and templates to make your own from the wedding chick’s web page here. Here are some examples from the Wedding Chicks themselves.
Heading South to Say ‘I Do’? Take This Necklace Along.
By Tara Andrews
As I was organizing my supplies this weekend, I came across some shell pendants that I got quite a while ago that were sitting near some freshwater pearls dyed lavender. The color combination inspired me to make this necklace perfect for a destination wedding somewhere south.
The necklace is 16 inches long but can be adjusted up to 18 inches or anywhere in between. The pendant is 30mm and the pearls are 5.5 – 6mm pearls in white and lavender.
Isn’t it perfect for that beach wedding? It also is perfect for your bridesmaid!
